Nothing could be more appropriate for the inaugural post on this blog than Carl Sagan's "Pale Blue Dot". In my lifetime no single individual has been a greater force for science, reason, skepticism and rational thought than Carl Sagan. He, more than anyone, brought the joy and exhilaration of wonder and discovery to mainstream America. He inspired and entertained millions all over the world. I doubt we will ever see another quite like him.
